Whoo Hoooooooo!!!

So yesterday was another good day for Regan at school, she didn’t have any accidents.  I told her last night before I left her room that if she had to go potty that she could get up and go.  I did actually use the gate last night just to make sure that she didn’t decide to go downstairs and check things out.  (Of course, the rest of the house is pretty much dark so what am I worried about?!  Well, there could be a trip down the stairs and we don’t want that either).  Anyway, we picked out her clothes this morning and she said she was going to dress herself.  I said that sounds great!  I asked her if she used the potty last night and she said “no”.  I asked her if she pooped in her pull-up and she said “I don’t know, it doesn’t feel like I did”.  I asked her to lay down for me and I opened it up to find……

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!  I opened it and I said, “What is all this”? and she started to look at me funny, so I said “feet up” and she rolled up in a ball and I pulled out the pull-up from under her and held up the inside part and said, “What is this”? and she started to giggle.  She said “there is nothing there” and I flipped it over and said “What do you see on the front”?, she says “I see flowers!!!!”

Seriously people, she hasn’t been dry at night in probably a good 6 – 9 months.  I’m so excited for her and us.  She was helpful this morning, she listened, she turned out lights, she buttoned her own shirt (with just a little bit of help), she was just PLEASANT this morning!

What a change.

Pee at Midnight

Okay, so I don’t know what damn time it was however I got up this morning and used the Potty.  There was already some “stuff” in there.  (Listen, I was half asleep and just needed to pee, don’t ask me specifics I just noticed that it had already been used).  I got downstairs and David tells me that someone used the potty last night…..(I thought to my self: Self,….nope, it wasn’t me).  He goes on to say that there was some pee and a little bit of toilet paper in the potty.  Ah ha! (Yes, the 2-watt lightbulb just went off).  “Cool” I say.  He says when he walked out of our room this morning it was really noisy in the hallway and he realized that it was Regan’s fan – her door was cracked open again.  We did close it last night.

So I ask her about it this morning and she says “No, I didn’t go”.  I tell her “You aren’t in trouble, I would just like to know if you went”, pretty much got the same answer the whole time.  Until she slipped up and said “Don’t tell my teachers.”  I asked “Don’t tell your teachers what?”  “That I peed.”  Uhm, HELLO?!?!?!??!?!?!?!  So I finally keep on her and tell her that she might get something special out of telling me that she did use the potty.  So she finally owned up to it, I gave her a HUGE hug and told her that I was really proud of her and that she can do this.  I also told her that she might get a special treat after school. 

So now I would like to step up the “prize” if you will.  She has been peeing during awake daylight hours for a while now.  Last week was the first week of not having accidents during naptime.  Last night was the first night for a nighttime pee break.  Has anyone out there given anything more for peeing at night than during the day or did you keep it all the same??  Thanks for any input.

Bunch of Randomness

On our way to ‘coffee’ this morning – policemen were the topic of conversation AGAIN?  Is she trying to jinx me??  I’ve gotten my share of tickets, seriously I don’t need anymore – E.V.E.R.

2 successes on the potty today, plus she is in underwear.  1 accident but I don’t even know if she peed or if some just leaked out b/c it wasn’t much.  I did a pull-up for naptime, 1st day in undies and all that good stuff, thought I would save her and I the hassle of cleaning up the bed today.

I’m having a painting party in early March.  I have gotten quite a few responses back from the ‘girls’. Very exciting.  It will be a paint and then we can party/girls night in kind of thing!  I have the living/dining room and MAYBE the upstairs bathroom – we will see how ambitious we get.

2nd consecutive afternoon with no nap.  Last night I put someone to bed an hour early.  She was still awake around 8:40 but it would have been 9:40 so, I might have to use that tactic again tonight – plus a bath!

Oh, and I now live with WHINY!  Well at least while we are out in public – at home she is better today.  Did the moon go around the sun or what?

It’s An Official 1st!!!!!

I’m VERY proud to announce………. (drum roll please)

 REGAN POOPED ON THE POTTY TODAY FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!!!!!!!!!

(hopefully of many more times to come….soon!)

Lucille told Regan that she would be missing out on alot of playtime today.  Regan didn’t seem to mind (from what I am told), she just sang to herself alot today, while in the bathroom!  Lucille told her to go to use the potty before lunch.  Nothing happened.  All the kids ate lunch, then Lucille told Regan about 10 minutes after lunch that she needed to go use the potty again.  Lucille says after a little bit she heard “Cille, I poopied in the potty!!”  Lucille said to Regan, “Well I have to see this”, and sure enough, Regan did in fact use the potty for the very first time.

My child has been sitting on the potty now for a while and of course the running joke for me is that she will be 14 and in diapers or pull-ups. 

I think that Regan is finally ready to prove me wrong!   (I just wish I could have been there to be really gross and have coverage of it – don’t worry, I would spare you all the details!  But I would have it!)
