Hello…I’m a wanna be hairstylist

Yeah, it is getting closer people.  I’m less than 200 hours away from getting my required 1500 hours to go and take my state board exam. 

I have been taking pictures like crazy lately, for me and for everyone else.  Of course there are those days (like Friday) where I finally had the opportunity to do a perm and totally didn’t think about taking pictures because I had a little boy (younger than 2 years old) right before the lady came in.  So you are so hyped about actually not jacking up the little boys hair (his head was on a swivel stick) and not hurting him (shears are just sooooo sharp) that when you get done and realize that the next client is already in the salon, you start to ’sweat’ keeping them waiting.  So you get all your supplies ready and get them in the chair and find out what they are looking for, etc.  So you tend to completely forget that you should have taken a picture of the client before (and one of the bad things about me is that if I don’t take a before, I tend to think, well there is no point in taking an after – I have to get away from that thought tendency as it will still show that I know HOW to do the procedure).

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hey!  “HEY”!  I’m still living and breathing,  just getting a little harder somedays, the closer I get to finishing school and trying to figure out what I want to do for a job.

Uhm, let’s see: DH will now be starting 2nd shift a week early (“to Train” – dumbasses – he already basically does the job that he will be doing. Whatever.)

I took a bunch of pics this past Saturday. There was a wedding party and my mom came in for a cut/color. I will share soon. Saturday was extremely hoppin’ at the salon. But it was good practice!! I have another wedding mid-June.

The owner of the salon is getting on my freakin’ nerves yet again. I just have to hold out for about another 3 months. (Please just keep reminding me of that!!!)

So I need some info. Anyone been to Nashville, TN?? I need to get some easy, fun things to do that I might have time for in the evenings while I am there (in 2 weeks). Let me know if you have any ideas!!

Business

We have Corporate (including the Pres of the company) here today!  Big day, you ask – uhm….YES, H.U.G.E.  Basically we find out if we get to expand our facility.  2 new presses and added room.  Mostly just for the presses though.

Dressed to the freaking nines the last 2 days.  I just want my jeans now.  No, I don’t wear jeans every day but khaki’s are nice and comfy and I miss them too!

However, this HUGE deal has forced me to send all my dry cleaning to the dry cleaners – and I did get it all there yesterday.  15 garments and it is going to cost around $75.00 – Yes, you read that right.  But seriously people, it needs to be done and that is the punishment I get for putting it off for SSSSSSOOOOOOOO long!  Seriously, for about 2 years.  Just imagine all the cool things that I found that I would love to wear again though.  So it is for a good cause – so to speak.

Speaking of good causes, I put a call into my grandfather yesterday morning to let him know that the pictures were ready for him.  He got them and he is now happy for a while longer.

Regan has (let me re-phrase this right now).  There is a little girl in Regan’s class that has issues with Regan.  Regan has been very nice to her, yet the little girl hasn’t been so nice and being the adult that I am, I just put it down to kids being kids and it will happen.  Not everyone will like everyone else.  This morning on the way to school though, I was informed that the little girl invited Regan to the beach with her.   (Thought to self, “mmmmmm, Really?, now isn’t this just an interesting twist of fate”).  So I proceed to find out more about the story and why “little girl” is now nice to Regan.  We talked some but didn’t get to the meat of the situation.  However I found out something else.  Another little girl that Regan was friends with is now not her friend.  I really want to find out the deal now.  However as we got closer to the school, Regan said that she didn’t want to talk about it anymore and that we would discuss it further after school.  Oh, and don’t tell the teachers either, she says.

I know, I know…..

I haven’t been around much.  I haven’t really stayed current (really I mean day-to-day).  This is the thing, I usually post while at work.  Yes, I take my computer home on the weekends (even the long ones, with these plant shut-down days), and yes, I do have a computer at home.  However, when I am home, I know that I need to get on and talk to you all and down load pictures from the camera (video as well), and I just can’t bring myself to do it. 

However, I really need to set up pictures for my Grandfather…..SO….the big push for tonight is to get my videos YouTube’d, download pics off the camera and sent pics to Walgreens for Grandpa AND get some stuff posted here.

Will that work for you all??  I hope so, and I hope that you aren’t too upset that I am SLACKIN’!!!  hahaha.  It does happen to us all doesn’t it??

I know that it might be a bit hard to see but in the pre-pic, she has that one piece of hair that shows that the back is longer than the front. The post-pic almost doesn’t show how short (still getting used to seeing her this way) it is. But the back literally sits right on the nape of her neck and it is layered up the back to about the mid-point between the top of her head and the nape of her neck. Plus I trimmed up the front just a little bit more tonight.

I would have never done this but she said that she wanted it this way.  (I even had 2 guy friends look at me like I had 2 heads this morning, I said “look, she wanted it shorter otherwise I wouldn’t have taken off that much”. They both said that she looked like a completely different child. She does but it still looks CUTE on her.

Anyway, summer heat has obviously hit us here in VA and it is affecting the little one in the house.
