Good Day so far….

Seriously, this day COULD have made me FLIP.COMPLETELY.OUT. 

But you know, it has really worked out well for me today.  I have enjoyed work, I have done a fairly good job today (haven’t made any mistakes, YET).  I feel accomplished and  I still have just a little bit more to do to be “officially” done for the day.

The only thing left now is to have fun with Miss Thang. uhmmmmm, what to do, what to do?

Maybe we will have eggs tonight and she can help make them……what have you let your 3 year old help with?  (This is even for you all that have grown kids too! - They were 3……ONCE!!)

Bathtime

Sunday is usually bath night for Regan.  She had a blast tonight, I got a big plastic cup to help me with getting her hair wet and rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner in her hair.  In between me using the cup she had a blast just filling the cup up and DUMPING it.  She did a great job with keeping it in the tub but she got very exuberant about it toward the end.

She had a blast and it made me think, “These are the times that make up for all the struggles we have some days”.  She is 3, what can I say?  She get attitude, tired, wants her independence but still get stuck in the ‘Mommy-glue’.  She is outgoing and active and I love that we found a new simple toy for bathtime.

A Day For Me

Friday evening some ideas were posed to me.  I thought about it and decided ‘yeah, I really do need to do something for ME this weekend’.  Obviously, yesterday was not a ‘FOR ME’ day.  Today however, I do declare!….I had a ME day and REALLY enjoyed it!

I was still up a bit early but, I am okay with that.  Stinkerpot and I got up and got started with our day.  We chilled until it was time to get coffee, we met Daddy there.  He ran an errand and Stinkerpot and I headed home.  We got home and I hooked up the Nano and played some more of her music and some of my funner (yes, I know this isn’t a word, do you think that matters to a 3 yo that is having a BLAST dancing with you, uhm NO!) songs: Higher Ground - RHCP (Sorry Hot!); My Doorbell -White Stripes; Pantala Naga Pampa - DMB; Canned Heat - Jamiroquai.  Songs that are upbeat that I like and that just sound fun to her (oh, dancing and acting like fools did include tickle/hugging/kissing time - I liked that part myself!).  Daddy got home at the end of our crazy song time (we did still listen to a couple more songs and continue to dance like loons).  We got the oven started together to bake some Valentine’s cookies.  She helped put them on the cookie sheet (yes, she helped eat some already too!).  We colored, she ate some lunch, she took a nap (this is when the fun really began FOR ME).  I went to my friends house and we karaoked for 2 hours.  We ate cake (we are both aquarians), drank Mt. Dew and sang like idiots - because truthfully it is more fun to screw the song up (sing with Elmo stylings).  Change all the words that you can so that you can be completely, mindlessly immature and still think that it is hilarious!

Yes, my friend and I just reverted back to 12yo this afternoon

Got home, Stinkerpot had just gotten downstairs (perfect timing), and we proceeded to go to dinner!  Very nice night.

Gotta finish up all my Sunday chores now though.  But I’m okay with that!  I’m almost done - even with laundry!

Lazy Day

While it was nice to some what lounge, I have no idea why I feel tired still.

We had a good day.  Hit the coffee shop, hit Borders - again, Whoo Hoo for Gift Cards.  Regan aquired 4 new books and I got a Pre-K book for her just to see how she does with it.  However tonight she was showing off a bit and actually wrote a couple letters on her own without the Dora mats.

We came home and played with Moon Sand - can you say M.E.S.S.??  It was messier than Daddy thought it was going to be (he got it for her for Christmas).  It was fun and neat but it was messier than play-doh.  At least we now know that it probably would do better outside.  We were smart enough to at least do it on the kitchen floor.

Naptime for Regan was Daddy’s time to nap as well.  I went to the library and grocery shopped.  She was still out for a while though.

Had dinner, had a bath (Regan, not me!), Daddy read and sang to her.  I cleaned out the litter box, and got back in the laundry swing of things and got all the trash together.

I just have to finish the laundry but books are calling my name.  Maybe I will read while the rest of the laundry finishes.
