Issues…

First of all I would just like to throw this out there..Why is it that people that you never were really friendly with in the first place insist on asking you to add them as a friend on FB??  Seriously, did we EVER REALLY talk before??  So what makes you think that we would talk NOW??  Yeah, we might have mutual friends but WE WEREN’T CLOSE before.  So please….don’t be offended if I don’t accept your request.

Secondly, the high-end salon opportunity probably isn’t going to work out at this time.  It was explained to me that the owner won’t know what she is looking for until around October and I can’t wait that long for work.  So the reasonable priced salon it is for now which is fine, really.  Thank you all for your support and suggestions/advice.  I like seeing what everyone else thinks and what they can say to back up their ideas!!

Thirdly, I will be sending my application into state board at the end of this coming week due to needing specific documentation that will not be readily available until Friday.

Fourthly (is that correct wording), the napless days for Regan are killing me.  So I have decided to make bedtime earlier for the school year!  Yeah me!  and ultimately Regan too as she is miserable and tired and makes things very difficult on me and herself when she is tired!  I will let you all know how it works out!

For a Friend…

Michelle* (named changed to protect the innocent – not that she is) asked me today, “Why do you never blog anymore?”. Let me just start at the beginning.

Michelle is a co-worker, and we have become pretty good working buddies. You know, the person that you probably hang out with the most while at work, but you just don’t socialize a lot outside of work because A: You live about 40 minutes away from each other OR B: You both have kids and your life almost revolves more around their schedule than your own. (That is the story I’m sticking to – tee hee). Well that is us. I am an assistant to her position, so we do tend to have many jobs that we work on together.

So after many of my complaints, whining, and bitching to you all about the last couple of weeks here at work, you would THINK that she knows why I haven’t blogged much.  I’m tired.  I have nothing positive to share.  I have nothing more than complaints it feels like and I’m so tired of being on the computer from being at work that getting on the computer at home is almost pulling  teeth (well, okay that is exaggerated just a bit).  Anyway, that was the question posed to me today and I thought, well, hell,….might as well make the most of it and talk all about Michelle.

So, Michelle is 30, she is the mother of 2 beautiful children.  1 girl age 9 and 1 boy age 5.  Her husband (well, do I really want to get into all that??!  Sure why not), her husband absolutely adores her.  Michelle is blond haired, blue eyed, you know – the kind you wanna just kick in the ass – but she is too down to earth to REALLY want to do that to.    We both listen to our music while working, or I listen to hers if I haven’t even gotten that far in the morning.  She usually makes the coffee, and sometimes (because she <3’s me) – she will bring me in a coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts or something.  We IM constantly through the day.  Her office is RIGHT next to mine, well technically I moved down to this part of the hallway at the beginning of the year and she was already in her office.  We go to lunch together sometimes.  Her and I make up ‘The Word of The Day’, usually the more vulgar the more we laugh.  You HAVE to laugh to get through it here sometimes.  But she still has that innocence about her, where sometimes, I tend to go overboard on the vulgar and she will just look at me and shake her head like, “Why in the world do I deal with this WHACK job crazy person?”  But she does, and she accepts me for who I am, as I feel that I accept her as herself as well.  I’m not saying that we agree on everything but we seem to balance it very well.

So Michelle, this was a HIGHLIGHT of you!  I hope that you enjoy it.  And I will TRY harder to keep up with my blog on a more constant basis.

Fortified

Seriously people…..Thank GOD for friends!!  Smart friends, dumb friends, funny friends and serious friends.  Obviously I could go on and on.

However, one friend in particular is really standing out to me today (and through this past weekend), Obviously from my previous post, I was struggling with getting EXCORCIST REGAN to be her usual lovey, easy-go-lucky self.  My friend reminded me that ultimately, Regan is just trying to have an audience and push the boundaries to the EXTREME edge (and doing so successfully until Saturday night   )

So, I hope to have nighttime back to ‘normal’ again this week and looking forward to better times again. 

So thank you FRIEND!  You absolutely Rock!  You make me feel much more fortified, and I am truly THANKFUL!!!!

Today

This morning Stinkerpot and I headed back to Cille’s to get “Teddy”.  Teddy is a bear that she has had since right after birth and he is her ’security blanket’ for a better word.  She can do stuff without him but bedtime is really for her and Teddy.  She has left him there before overnight but for some reason was insistent that we get him this weekend. 

We went on a mini-shopping spree.  Well, I was gonna shop and realized that I had left some ‘help’ behind at home.  I forgot a coupon and things like that so I decided that I would just look for now.  We hit Kohl’s then we hit the mall because Stinkerpot wanted to play on the ‘hopscotch’ (it is one of those virtual floor mats that if you ‘kick’ the ball it moves around and she calls it hopscotch).  I hit Victoria’s Secret because I did actually have my $10 off card with me (they mail out $10 off cards for the month of your birthday – just in case you like VS but don’t like their prices). 

As we were getting ready to head back out to the car I spotted my friend, so I called her on the cell phone.  I see her get the phone out of it’s little compartment on her shoulder strap and she is already rolling her eyes, she answers and I say “Don’t get such a disgusted look on your face”.  She starts laughing and I can tell that she is starting to look around already.  I say “Your hair is getting long too”, she said “I know……where are you?”  I had to keep the game going for a bit as I was looking right at her.  Anyway I finally directed her my way and we all (little girls included) had lunch at the mall.

I haven’t seen her in a while so it was nice to catch up!

ps: Mom’s hair looks great again and I almost feel human (got a mini-massage).  My jaw still hurts a little but I’m taking it one day at a time.  Got advil in me already.  My shoulder feels pretty good.  I gotta drink my water today now – ugh, I’m not a very good water drinker.

Yes, I said we!  The reason being is that each time I use one of the items that I have aquired from Terri, I will be thinking of you ALLLLLLLL!!!!!!! 

Obviously, I’m very excited.  I guess it doesn’t take much! (I mean that in a good way)

Props to Terri for having the contest, and including everyone.  I hope that she had a good time having it, because I had a good time checking out her blog.  She just finished re-doing her entryway, and living room – looks great Terri.  Thanks for letting me peak into your world.  Btw, I will be having a painting party at my home soon so that I can have color on my walls – Maybe I should do before and after’s as well?!

Thanks again to each of you!  You all are very special to me and not just for helping me out today. 

I’m baccccckkkkkk…….!!!!

Well at least from my own duldrums.  I think that sometimes we all can get caught up in the now and the what if’s and just life.  That is when you need your garden smelled.  Personally I like ’smelling the roses’, but seriously, fresh flowers make you think of spring and warm and just happy.  Granted I didn’t get myself any flowers but I did sleep fairly well and ya know, I just HATE feeling the way I did.  I think that I need that big reality check every once in a while though.  Kind of like you don’t know what is good unless you experience the bad.  Okay, enough cliche sayings for the day.

I did want to share this:  This morning Regan was a GRUMP.  So I got in her face and was asking gently “Are we a grumpy head today?”  and she rolled away from me covering her ears and making mewing noises (ya know the ones, very annoying and you can’t understand a word of it).  So I did what any caring, loving mother would do – I started to tickle her.  Of course it didn’t work at first but I got her to giggle finally.  Oh and she likes to run (seriously people, take a look at this and you get the image) full tilt into you now, especially when you are sitting so you have no leverage to stay sitting upright.  So she was getting ready to run into me (picture the bull’s fore foot rubbing the ground – SNORT! – giggle) and she said:  “Seady, Rhett, Go!”  – I had to laugh at that alone!!  The next time she started from the hallway and she said it right that time.

So one of my friends suggested that a group of us (we have known each other now for about 4 years, since we found out we were pregnant with our first children) do a conference call. 

AWESOME idea!

I know that I had a really good time just listening to everyone and hearing their voices.  We have only met once (well 12 of us) and it was in Chicago in 2005.  We ‘talk’ everyday online, but we don’t hear the voices!  It is amazing.

Great Friends

I have an amazing group of friends.

Interestingly enough, we have only known each other for about 3 years, going on 4.  Two common things at the time were,  we were all pregnant AND we were all due in September of 2004.

Yes, some people have come and some people have gone, all for different reasons.  However, once in a while someone out of the blue will check in and it is still great to hear from them. 

Well, whenever someone needs a lift in spirit or mentality, we try to help or just listen in anyway possible.  There are times that we have physically done stuff for another person to help them out as well. 

Oh, that’s right, I didn’t mention that while most of us are spread around the U.S., we have 2 ladies that are in Canada, 2 in England and 1 in Barbados.  So you see, this group of friends that I have……yes, to me they are truly amazing.

Well a couple of them just gave me a big boost and it was so funny the way they did it.   I received a package from Amazon on Friday and I had no idea what it was.  Well, once I got home and opened up the package it was a Wonder Woman Ultimate Sticker book.  I got such a huge laugh out of it. 

It’s true, you have to have laughter in your life, otherwise, why are you here?
