Last night was EXTREME circumstances. Someone didn’t feel well and didn’t whine. moan, eh, cry for very long. Putting it nicely, she is exhausted from keeping crappy hours lately. I heard her until I got the the bottom of the stairs and that was all she wrote until 7am this morning.
The fever is no longer possessing my daughter at this time. Actually it never really escalated like I thought it might this morning so she is good.
Tonight, we had Little Gym and of course that changes our routine a bit but we go over this every Wednesday night. “After French Fries and Chicken nuggets, what happens?”, she replies “No songs or stories”. Saying it, hearing it week after week, and accomplishing it are obviously different things. She will still ask who is reading to her and all that. So I just left her room, she starts crying right away, so I go back in right away and I tell her “Stop crying Regan, you are a big girl. There is nothing to be afraid of because you are inside and Mommy can hear you. If you think about the outside being dark, think about all the pretty lights that are lighting up the dark.” This was where it got good. “If I have to come back in here because you are crying, I will take every book out of your room for the night.” So now I’m just hearing “uh, uh” trying to cry, and the flipping of pages to a book that I think she is reading and maybe some…. hiccups??!

Yep, Regan had a mild fever last night before bed. The bad thing is that her mild fever feels really warm because she is already such a warm blooded little girl. The rest of her body didn’t feel to bad but her forehead was really warm.
We made last nights bedtime routine as short and sweet as possible. Didn’t brush her teeth or sit on the potty, but I got her in her pj’s in record time and I got to songs and stories really quickly. Of course songs turned into a 20 minute deal all on their own.
I heard about 10 seconds of uhuhuh…..uhuhuh – then nothing. She was absolutely EXHAUSTED (it wouldn’t have anything to do with taking 1.5 – 2 hours to get to sleep for the last 2 weeks), plus Miss Cille has a cold. Regan doesn’t act like she has a cold but her immunity due to lack of sleep could be broken down just enough that it might creep up on her before I know it.
When I checked on her last night, she felt much better (thank you Motrin) and I never heard her all night (then again, I passed out at 9:40). I hope she is feeling better this morning.
Fever
UPDATE: Regan has Pink Eye. Are you kidding me??!! However the doc said that it is possible for the “stuff” in pink eye to drain therefore making Regan’s body try and fight it off (therefore the fever).

Yes, my poor girl has a fever. Of course that doesn’t stop her from pretty much being into everything still. (Sometimes I think that it makes it worse).
Daddy is home with her today as I am already taking 1/2 day off work tomorrow to try and make it to the Baltimore Zoo on Saturday sooooooo. We will see what plans Regan’s body has and take it from there.
In the meantime, it is back to the salt mines for me.
