Update to Croup

Called the ped. office today.  The nurse called back and said that it sounds like Regan is making it through and is on the uphill swing of getting better already.  She did say that if she sounds croupy again to give them a call though.  (Wiping forhead) Whhhooo, made it through that one.  Regan is very coughy today and her nose is running like a sieve but I can live with that.

On another note.  I received a Moms desk calendar for Christmas this year and today’s was kind of cute:  Gina found a letter her nine-year-old daughter Darcy had written.  It read, “Dear God, I bet it is hard for you to love everyone in the world.  There are four people in my family and it is hard for me to love them all sometimes.  Love, Darcy.”

I have to agree with Darcy some days!

Croup AGAIN!!!!!

Geez, what did I do to deserve a second helping of a croupy 3yo with attitude.  Okay, the wrong question to ask OBVIOUSLY.  But I am a bit disgusted to say the least. 

I figured I would do some research.  Wanna see how it is going? This was actually very informative. I liked this site because it specifies when you should take them to a ped. and when you don’t necessarily have to.

This is part of the issue. Seriously, she just had this Jan.12th - it hasn’t even been a month yet. I just don’t see the point in taking her to the ped. again when I know what it is and I don’t have more meds to give her. So I’m going to find out if I can just get the ped. to call in a prescription again so at least I don’t have to pay for the ped. visit too. I also thought about talking to the pharmacist and seeing if they would re-fill, but the prescription says not to without authorization. Then my MIL told me that sometimes you can have the pharmacy call the ped. office and see if it can be filled that way. Anyway, it is Sunday, I’m obviously not going to get this taken care of today all I can do at this point is keep her as calm as I can. Go for a walk in the cool air and give her some Delsym.

Ahhhhh, gotta love sickies! So much fun and the decisions I get to make, let me tell ya, I just thrive on making her ‘SUFFAH’ (Mwwwwhhhhhhhahahahahah mmmmmwwwhwhwhhaaahhaha)

The chicken has flown to croup?!

Well, I refer to chicken as Regan because she REALLY didn’t want to go to the doctor’s this morning.  The crocodile tears were in effect and left me tell you I really tried to stop her crying because she sounded possessed (kind of like the Excorcist - and what was that little girls name?? - now you are getting where I’m coming from).

And disgustingly, yes, she has croup.  Early stages thank goodness and we didn’t have to wait terribly long at the doctor’s.  So cool temperature in the house (check), vaporizer (check), meds (they are on the way) and a day of just chilling is in order. 

As far as I’m concerned we can stay home tomorrow too!
