Okay, VIDEO!!!!!    Whoo Hoo (I just know that you all in absolute suspense – NOT!)

Wow!

Regan had a really great birthday!  She was really good with saying Thank You for things.  She even told me this morning on the way to school, “Thank you for my cake mommy”, can we all say “awwwwww” now??!

She got a Dora storybook projector, a Hannah Montana tote bag (which is a great size to carry library books back and forth!), 1 new “comfy” outfit, 1 tinkerbell shirt, 1 tinkbell/faeries nightgown, a Barbie fashion plate ‘thing’ (I didn’t get a chance to play with it but all the outfits pieces are on “slides” and so there isn’t a bunch of little pieces – I will see if I can find something like it online to post here). 2 new cartirdges for her Click Start computer, a stuffed Stitch, and a stuffed Nemo.  I think Stitch is her newest bestest friend!

Thank you to all of you that made the day special for her.  She loved turning 4 even without all the hoopla of a party!

ps: I remember way (wayyyyyy) back when she was 6 months old and friend said, “just think, in this much time from now she will be 1″ and it was C.R.A.Z.Y. to think about at the time.  This morning on the way to school I was thinking, OMG, she will be 8 in no time at all.  Craziness people, strictly crazy!

Reminds me to enjoy the little things.
Encourages me to live life to the fullest.
Gives me great pleasure even when she is behaving poorly.
Allows me to love her unconditionally.
Never, has taken her love for me away!

Yes, my little ‘Ray’ of sunshine is having a birthday today.  She got her BIG present (a princess bike) yesterday and she loved her bike ride with helmet and knee pads.  She did a really good job listening – however did get a bit scared in the road and forgot how to steer momentarily!  She took to the sidewalks like a pro though!

She is getting so big and smart, and time really has flown by.  We aren’t doing anything big this year for her birthday because there is just so many other things that are new this year:  Pre-K, not peeing in her pull-up at night, not having any pee accidents at school.  And all this just seems ALL.THE.SUDDEN.

I love her, and as she tells me, I can only love her?!?!?!?  But hey, for now that will do – even though I tell her I love other people too and I have a heart big enough for all the other people.  She will figure it out soon I hope.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIRTHDAY GIRL – may your wished come true!

Another year: Older, ……

wiser, with more experience, grown, taught, loved, happier, survived, having patience, smelling roses, aches and pains.

 This is what growing older is all about.  It isn’t about taking AWAY our youth.  It is about enjoying and making the most that we can of everyday, the best way we know how OR even the best way that we may need to just to keep our sanity.  We all need pampering at some time or another.  We all need to know that we are loved, needed, even wanted.  We all need face time with someone special and we also need that “Me” time (that I refer to quite frequently, I know).  We all need to take life’s little (and big) lessons and learn SOMETHING (just one thing would be great) from them.  It would be great if we could all be just a smidge nicer to the person that just turns us into Dr. Jekyll rubs us the wrong way.  Obviously, I haven’t perfected this one either (You don’t see that I was sainted last year at the top of this blog).  But the thought is what counts, someone said.  Maybe today will be that one day for me.   I can only try, right?
