Ali’s Meanderings

So this morning I’m woken to very strange sounds of strangulation, choking and having difficulty breathing.  I get up, go to her room and as I’m opening her door…..she is sitting up telling me that she “frewup“.

Well the nice thing is that it was just that really phlegmy throw up - so there are just little patches of it, I mean seriously how can you really throw up much of that stuff?  The really weird thing is that is was that really phlegmy throw up that doesn’t wanna come out of carpet, no matter how much up pick and scrub - it is now the velcro that you will never get out of the carpet.

Of course Regan doesn’t wanna sleep anywhere else but IN the ‘apartment’, therefore, she will have phlegmy throw up in her just-washed-clean-hair by the time she wakes up.  I love the smell of throw up with the scent of lavendar (from her bath soap) together. 

Yesterday I was treated to a story about what Regan pretends while at Cille’s.

R: Me and Eliza play pretend…and we pretend frowup (throw up)….we have a pretend toilet in the corner of the playroom and we frowup and we choke….we frowup like this mommy “bbbbbbblllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh” (all with intonation and everything - just like the real thing).

 I’m sure Cille just loves that pretend game.

I have thick, curly (when shorter layers it is more noticeable) to wavy (when longer the weight pulls it out), graying brown  LOTS of hair.  My bangs are growing out too.

I have a hair appt this Saturday.  Color (thank goodness, seriously, I got out of the shower one day this week and thought “I’m graying overnight now”), eyebrows (just think fuzzy catepillars) and hair cut.  Yes, CUT not just trimmed this time.  I like the fact that I have thick hair (on most days), I like the fact that I can wear it curly or straight (if I take the time to straighten it).  I have been growing it out for a while, I like playing with hair so I’m fine with it being longer.  I look good in short hair but I can’t have it too short anymore b/c my neck is too long and skinny (think giraffe).  But short hair means that I don’t get to play with it much, it means getting it wet every morning because of bed head.

So I’m looking for something blunt and choppy now.  Any suggestions?

I have looked at a few sites and I just feel like I know what I want but it still won’t end up looking the way I want it too.

Here is what I have so far:  Granted I know this is a famous person, but I was looking at hairstyles and I was thinking of people that I knew (of) that had the kind of cut I’m looking for.

UPDATE:

Okay, so I was gonna post this last week (before I said screw it) and I got a phone call that I wasn’t getting my hair cut or colored.  So I colored it myself and it still isn’t cut yet.  And I plucked the damn caterpillars.

Any suggestions, ideas, other haircuts that you think would work?  (I guess I should add that I have an oval face - I think)

I’m out.  Blog 365 is too much for me (in general).  I bitch the whole time and I don’t have anything new right now to share.  I have a blog written up for yesterday but I didn’t post and I’m fine with that.

I got other things right now that I HAVE to take care of.

Anyone exhausted just by the questions that their children ask?

I’ve been VERY busy at work lately and let me tell you, I’m tired and cranky as is.  Then I have very busy pre-schooler that is NON-STOP.  Either with questions or wanting to do things.  I like that she is active and wants to do things.  I don’t want her to lose that.  However, during the winter months, I am a total bear.  I hibernate and I stay inside as much as possible.  The cold weather hasn’t done anything for me since I was 14 or so.  And it seems colder but at the same time warmer if that makes any sense.  We don’t have the month long 32 degree weather that it seems like we used to have (global warming).  It seems that we do get breaks from the really cold air but it just makes the cold that much colder feeling.  I do not do well with anything less than 50 degrees though.

Anyway, anyone else think this weather is for the abomidable snowman? And only him?

I got nothin’.  Absolutely nothin’ to share with you.  I feel like I’m regurgitating stuff I’ve already shared before. 

Work is CRAZY!  What else is new?  Anyone else having a good ’smooth time’ at work lately, or do you also feel like you are doing the work of 2 people and getting paid for half a person’s work?  Maybe it is just me.

Regan…… well, Regan is Regan.  She makes me laugh and makes me wanna pull out my hair some days.  She does tell me that she loves me an awful lot.   I hope that all of us mother’s go through this from time to time.

Life is coasting to be perfectly honest.  I’m just trying to get by day by day.  It is the best that I can do at this point.

I guess I could say that I’m very thankful for my health lately.  (Knocking on wood as I type this), I haven’t had bronchitis YET this season - AMAZING, I know. 

I will try to get back in the feel of things soon.  Hang with me people, work is unfortunately taking all my focus right now

Sunday is usually bath night for Regan.  She had a blast tonight, I got a big plastic cup to help me with getting her hair wet and rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner in her hair.  In between me using the cup she had a blast just filling the cup up and DUMPING it.  She did a great job with keeping it in the tub but she got very exuberant about it toward the end.

She had a blast and it made me think, “These are the times that make up for all the struggles we have some days”.  She is 3, what can I say?  She get attitude, tired, wants her independence but still get stuck in the ‘Mommy-glue’.  She is outgoing and active and I love that we found a new simple toy for bathtime.

This morning Stinkerpot and I headed back to Cille’s to get “Teddy”.  Teddy is a bear that she has had since right after birth and he is her ’security blanket’ for a better word.  She can do stuff without him but bedtime is really for her and Teddy.  She has left him there before overnight but for some reason was insistent that we get him this weekend. 

We went on a mini-shopping spree.  Well, I was gonna shop and realized that I had left some ‘help’ behind at home.  I forgot a coupon and things like that so I decided that I would just look for now.  We hit Kohl’s then we hit the mall because Stinkerpot wanted to play on the ‘hopscotch’ (it is one of those virtual floor mats that if you ‘kick’ the ball it moves around and she calls it hopscotch).  I hit Victoria’s Secret because I did actually have my $10 off card with me (they mail out $10 off cards for the month of your birthday - just in case you like VS but don’t like their prices). 

As we were getting ready to head back out to the car I spotted my friend, so I called her on the cell phone.  I see her get the phone out of it’s little compartment on her shoulder strap and she is already rolling her eyes, she answers and I say “Don’t get such a disgusted look on your face”.  She starts laughing and I can tell that she is starting to look around already.  I say “Your hair is getting long too”, she said “I know……where are you?”  I had to keep the game going for a bit as I was looking right at her.  Anyway I finally directed her my way and we all (little girls included) had lunch at the mall.

I haven’t seen her in a while so it was nice to catch up!

ps: Mom’s hair looks great again and I almost feel human (got a mini-massage).  My jaw still hurts a little but I’m taking it one day at a time.  Got advil in me already.  My shoulder feels pretty good.  I gotta drink my water today now - ugh, I’m not a very good water drinker.

So you remember this…. of course you do.  I can still hear you all laughing.  Seriously, my shoulder is starting to ease off a bit, but oh my god, my jaw is killing me tonight.  My mom is coming over tomorrow to get her hair trimmed and colored and I told her to bring her oils - Please get my jaw back in alignment mom (I did tell you all that she gives GREAT massages - didn’t I??)!  This is just nuts. 

Will I have this pain the rest of my life now??! 

ps: you know how I said that being klutzy had 2 good beni’s?……I’m thinking of taking those comments back at this time.
