Ran some errands (bank, got new car wipers - front and back)
10:30 - Maggie Moo’s doesn’t open until 11am so we wasted time at Petco.
11:00 - Maggie Moo’s, Regan got chocolate with marshmellows, and kissable candies.
11:45 - went to Staples and Office Max to pick up a new calendar to keep for bill information and I got a new address book.
12:40 - Put Regan down for a nap that didn’t end up happening until about 2:15pm with me laying on the floor in her room - but she did pass out quickly. I read then took about a 15 - 20 minute nap before I realized she was laying beside me staring at me.
3:30 - Got gas (for the car, otherwise David could have gotten us there on his own “steam”) and Applebee’s GC for dinner
4:15 - Applebee’s - STEAK - highly recommend the Applebee’s House Sirloin & Shrimp, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and veggies - YUM!
5:45 - Winter Wonderland - this is seriously the bomb for this area. It is an area park that has a circular 1/4 mile walkway that is paved and there are lights everywhere! There is also the awesome display of LED lights that match the music that is playing. David actually really enjoyed himself! Plus they played ‘Carol of the Bells’ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra - just love the song in general but it is a cool twist.
8:00 - bedtime, but someone had an absolute hissy until about 9:30 when I went in their room and told them to lay in bed and not get up. We talked for a while and made a bargain that if I hummed ‘Lullaby’ again there would be no more crying when I left the room.
10:30 - posting this and going upstairs to enjoy my Hot Chocolate with Marshmellows and Jet Puffed Marshmellow mess!
My godmother sent me her annual update on her family with a christmas card. Included was also a picture of her (Alison), her husband (Rob) and 2 of her 3 children.
This morning, Regan noticed the picture and she asked me “What is that a picture of?” I said “That is my godmother, her husband and 2 of her children. My godmother’s name is Alison also, I was named after her.” Regan proceeds to ask me “Does your fairy godmother have wings?”
Okay, so I haven’t really had any good David-ism’s lately. Here’s two for you.
1) David and his working crew last night decided with the cost of gas lately that maybe it would be a GOOD thing to receive a bag of coal this year for Christmas.
2) (a little longer-sorry) We both received those travel mugs that you can plug into your cigarette lighter in your car. So we were just talking and he says “I was thinking about it and I was wondering if the coffee would ever be cool enough to drink though”, so this led to banter: Him: I might have to try soup. Me: hmmm, the spaghetti O’s are done. Me: my grilled cheese is done. Him: “Dave, where are you going for lunch?” ”I’m going to drive around the block 5 times to heat up my lunch” Him: Now I need directions to where I need to drive to to get it warmed up all the way. Him: I wonder if a cornish game hen will fit in one of those things? (Of course by now, it is late and I’m tired so I’m ROLLIN’). He just came back up to me and said “You know the really bad thing is that I’m gonna have to try the spaghetti O’s”
Oh the things that go through our heads. Well, mostly his.
I made it through this day fairly well. While Regan napped I cleaned and got ready for company tonight. That went very well and now it is just a matter of sneaking by Regan’s door without waking her. She had a really hard time getting to sleep tonight so, ‘tiptoe, tiptoe’ is the magic thought!
I’m not kidding when I say that I think that she played with the Play-doh for at least an hour this morning in the kitchen. I played with her for a bit then asked her if I could sit on the couch because my back was starting to bother me. She was very good. She put each color away before getting a new one out and she would ask me to open the tops. I was very pleased.
Well, I just want to say to all my blogging friends, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I’m so glad that I decided to start a blog. I have met some of the neatest and coolest people through blogging. I wish you all the best of 2008!!!
Have you noticed that I have said NOTHING about wrapping presents again this week? Yes as of tomorrow it will be one week and I have wrapped nothing else. Okay, I take that back, I did wrap something for my aunt this morning.
Let’s see, if you were paying attention, you will know that I felt like cr*p Tuesday - Thursday. Friday night I blew out my back. It is slowly getting better and I had my mom mess with it a bit tonight as well (since she was here, oh in case you don’t know, she is a masseuse). It is feeling better but I can’t wait to get on the heating pad tonight.
So, Regan had Cille’s party last night, played with those items this morning while I’m trying to get the house ready for my aunt and mom today. After nap (which I honestly don’t think consisted of sleeping for very long) she opened presents from my aunt and my mom. She was VERY pleased with the Play-doh. She already told me that she wants to stay home tomorrow and “play”.
Seriously, I don’t think that she is asleep yet and I know that she is already plotting what she is going to accomplish with the play-doh alone tomorrow.
I just have to say that Regan knows her Christmas songs and has them down pat this year!! Had to share this with you all. I think that my daughter and another person or 2 were responsible for this rendition lasting a little longer than the older girls thought it was going to! Enjoy.
So on top of my lovely potty week, feeling like Mr. Cold is trying to get a hold of me and my daughter, I blew out my back last night. GGGGRRRRR!! Are you freakin’ serious?
Sitting on the couch not really doing anything. However I do remember Regan asking me to look at something on the floor. I must have been sitting funny and there it went.
It is getting better this evening, just have to keep popping the advil and using the heating pad. Oh!, and the extremely hot shower - damn that felt good!!!
Okay, today is going to be a TMI post, so seriously if you have a weak stomach or just ate - excuse yourself now.
Monday night I thought, I’m going all the way. I’m actually going to heat something up for me to eat AND I’m gonna have a veggie. What appeals to me? Corn. I believe it was a mix of white and yellow if you want details. Yummy with the meat I heated up. Regan of course helps herself to my corn too - but there is PLENTY so I’m fine with all this.
Tuesday, it is PotLuck in the plant for the pressmen. Get in line, grab a plate, if you only put a little of each thing, you really can almost try everything. Oh look, there is corn - yummy. (Is a picture emerging here yet?) Not a freaking hour later and I’m in the ‘ladies room’ (just to be pc). A couple more times that afternoon and my butt hurts (not so pc!). The really funny thing at this point is that I still haven’t added 2 + 2 to get to the fact that this is LAST NIGHTS CORN!!! Seems to be coming under control and I make it home with no accidents. Whoo Hoo. Couple more visits to the potty (2 + 2 finally equals 4) and off to bed. (Thought to self: just don’t have an accident in bed).
Wed. morning - still having ‘issues’ OBVIOUSLY!!! Not feeling poorly though, really just tired of spending my working hours in the potty!
Thursday, throat doesn’t feel that well, I take some OTC meds just to combat and make it through the day. Through the whole day though, just didn’t feel well, however I finally poo’d a real poo. I’m tired tonight, I know that something is trying to bring me down and I just can’t deal with that too, not at this time of year.
So just think of me tomorrow morning and send me some feeling okay dust and think about me just once, NOT ON THE POT!
I probably bit off more than I can chew at this point. I decided to start another blog of my hobbies. Mostly the crocheting at this point. I figure if I start it a year before I really need to promote it that I might have it set up fairly well by then. I will have to see how the whole thing works out.
I’m still learning a ton about blogging in general and I haven’t been able to devote as much time learning more about blogging, but I am a willing candidate. I love how I do learn things on my own though. I just have to go through the blogging 101 site and hopefully that will help me a lot too. Just a matter of having the time to concentrate on what it is telling me. I am not a technical computer person. I know a lot but some things go over my head. Anyway, just wanted to share that info with you all, if you have any brilliant ideas, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have plenty of time to try things out and get it set the way I really like it.
We had our Cust. Serv. luncheon today. We tried a French restaurant. If you know anything about Winchester, VA there are a couple of off the beaten path eateries (if you will). So the French place was new to most of us.
I really liked what I got. Appetizer of White Bean and Ham Soup, my entree was a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Pesto and Feta on Ciabatta Bread. I was worried about the feta being too strong but actually I was pleasantly surprised. Dessert, OMG dessert was 4 layer Chocolate Cake and let me tell you I’ve already hit my sugar high and am crashing hard. I can’t see and a nap is the only thing that sounds REALLY good
Have you had your company department holiday festivities?
I’m a 30-something mother of 1. I have lots of thoughts when it comes to my daughter and life. So I thought I would start a blog - just to have somewhere to put my ideas and thoughts.
